In their final game of the series the Atlanta Braves beat the Florida Marlins 5-1. Behind a strong pitching effort by Derek Lowe, the Braves maintained their lead in the Wild Card standings. With three games left in the season a playoff berth is in their grasp, in long time managers Bobby Cox's last season. For the complete story:

The Braves have had an up and down season in 2010. For awhile they held the division lead until they had a long slump and the Phillies took over the division. But I am really rooting for the Braves because Bobby Cox has had a great career as a manager and he deserves one last shot at a World Series trophy. They have a group of solid veteran players to go along with a core of young talented players and they will give any team a hard time if they make it to the playoffs.
Until next time, take it easy.
